The Promises of God
As we approach Thanksgiving and the holidays we are mindful that our friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers are increasingly more receptive to Spiritual conversations. Overwhelmingly, people are more likely to say “yes” to an invitation to church at Christmas time. As fearless followers of Jesus we want to lean into those conversations and seize the opportunity!
The Scripture is filled with the promises of God (approximately 5,500) and we are told this…”For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.” – 2 Cor 1:20. Though there are many promises (all of which are true in Jesus), we believe that 3 of those promises stand out in our current society:
God’s promise of provision (even when the future is unknown)
God’s promise to free us from our past (even when we feel trapped in shame and guilt)
God’s promise to know us and understand us (even when we feel deeply alone)
These three promises have the power to change the way we see God, ourselves and others. These three promises have the power to change our lives! I want to invite you to invite everyone you know (especially those who struggle with anxiety, shame and loneliness in any way) to be a part of meaningful and relevant conversations.
